The gift of giving

This is a nice warm sunny spot.

I decided to really try and make the classes day today. One child in particular stood out to me as a troubled lad, acting out and being a bit inappropriate in the first session. He really sorted himself out in the last session and I gave him a pig face plant as a reward, you should have seem how proud he was especially when the class clapped as I gave him the plant..

Why is it I seem drawn to these troubled children, I have given plants to a couple of indigenous students at another school and they always tell me how well the plants are growing. This really makes me smile.

Another day, another child who has touched me emotionally.

What a loving, kind hearted person you are to reach out to the children with pain in their hearts and trouble in their lives; any child is lucky to have you as a mentor and teacher...It seems you give them something to care for, to be proud of, to nurture; you are a very impressive and insightful, beautiful woman=inside and out!...You are making a real difference...Cute photo of those sweet boys...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

That is so wonderful that you are reaching out to the children who probably need it most. The acting out is probably something to get attention they don't get elsewhere - we can understand why they would be proud when they are treated to such a great gift for behaving well!
