The wonderful world of white winged Choughs and what are those furry felines up to now!!!

Tuesday 12th January
You need to check out the kitty limericks that Karen Jo has written about Smudge and Spider. I was lax in posting this link now I am more aware of the etiquette. So my apologies to Karen. Enjoy!!!!

Now hmmm, what the heck is that, oh dear I seem to have caught my claw, help!!!!

Well what do we have here, frilly things??

Yesterday I had to get my car serviced in town and instead of just moping around the shops I decided to walk around Tuggeranong lake, this is the lake you can see in photos from Mt Taylor and Urambi hill that I posted in previous blog entries.
The walk was spectacular and made more so by the presence of White Winged Choughs, they look a lot like a raven or a crow from a distance but up close they have red (the alpha male and female have really red blazing eyes.) I love WW Choughs because they live as an extended family unit and they always make smile when I see or hear them.

Ok mum, dad, aunty what are we gonna do then??

I need some quiet time, it's nice just here.

Yahoo, this is fun, it's tickling my feet.

This is the wiew of Tuggeranong centre (In Canberra, ACT, AUSTRALIA) from the other side of the lake, the animal encounters were about to continue.

As I approcahed a tree two Willie Wagtails flew at me in a gentle but determined fashion and I discovered the nest I knew was there. I am reallly hoping to post a video of them doing this as it was very cute.

Look at me, look at me, nowhere else just me!!!

If we keep really still she won't see us, I can't move anyway we are so jammed in this nest.

I coming to get you!!!

The view from the town centre to where I walked from.

You really need to check out Wendys LOL special on Smudge and Spider. It is incredible what she has created'. Go to:

I saw you two over at LOL and wanted to stop by and say hi to you. Hope we can get to know each other better. I am having a birthday party on Friday at my place so head on over if you don't have anyting to do. All are invited so bring as many friends as you want to.
Loved the outdoor photos, so nice to see the beautiful outside while in the warmth of a nice warm house away from the freezing cold.

Those birdies are big! They'd be fun to play with!

These birdies all stick up for each other too. A dog off a leash disturbed the choughs but it was chased off.
Thanks for the comments.
