Fearless Friday:Back to babysitting, cuddly cats and Bermagui exploring

 Friday 8th January 2010

Last night I babysat for the first time this year. I had been warned the child was a handful and it was a good challenge to put my skills to the test. The child was obsessed with Bakugan and more than likely on the Autism spectrum. He challenged everything I said and then stated that he knew it already and all at the ripe age of 5 years. We had a great night when he realised I was not going to waver, we played Bakugan with some strange instructions from him, watched a Erky and Perky video, spotted pictures in a puzzle book and made a Car Beado, (needed very fine motor skills for that I tell you).

Spider was so cuddly when I got home last night, so I took some pics with him, he purrs so loud and  for some weird reason Smudge did not try and interrupt us.

Oh and Bermagui is on the South coast, I am going to do a  writing course near there in mid February in Cobargo. Next week will see me investigating the area for a day, stay overnight and wonder whether a little voice inside my head is right. A brief look at some pics had me visualising my sanctuary in this area!! Maybe I will be looking at some more properties as well.

I'm sorry, but I can understand a lot of your references, either geographically or culturally. Cobargo? Bermagui? Erky Perky? Car Beado?

Actually, where do you live and hike?

And look at that Spider! What a cutie-pie! I love the one of him nuzzling your nose.

I so glad to hear your pursuing your writing. What kind of course are you taking? I know you'll have fun and be inspired.

I just got an email from one of my friends today and she asked, "Have you ever considered writing a book with short chapters about your animals?"

I hadn't thought of that since I've mostly written for children, but just the idea makes me happy!

Sorry not to be more specific, I live in Canberra about 4 hours south of Sydney in Australia, Cobargo is near the South Coast, Bermagui is on the South Coast about 3 hours South East of Canberra. Erky Perky are two cartoon characters who are germs, very cool.Beado is where you can make pictures from beads by just spraying them with water.

In regard to my writing Jan The course is called "Finding Home". It explores personal evolution as narrative and fairy tale.It includes an art component too with pens and crayons. I am excited about it.

I am glad that you had a good time babysitting, once your charge realized that he couldn't dominate you. Spider does look very cuddly in the pictures.

Thanks Karen he is often very cuddly and loves to stretch out in my arms.

Well done with your baby sitting. I have a daughter on the spectrum and sometimes it can be very difficult trying to get them to see 'sense' when they already know all the answers.

Spider is a complete sweetie pie. Beado over here in the UK is called Aquabeads. Not sure if it's the same for the US

I have only been on the computer less than a year so all this is prtty overwhelming at times.
I have added you to my favorites list so I will come and see you again soon. Come back and see me again too.
