A challenging day

Hi all,

Above is the view I had of the jetty at my mums place on Wallis Island as we motored away in the boat.

Today was day two within the unit, it was interesting (and very special) to see a often non verbal child open up and sing beautifully when music was played.

It was challenging working with a Teachers aide also new to the unit but we muddled through and I know I will sleep well tonight. Also of note was catching a child doing a very nice thing for a less able student today and telling his teacher especially when he had been very silly yesterday.

A lot of humans could take lessons in how to act, how to live, from these children, Kas. Wonderful post.

P.S. That's such a wonderful view you had on the Island!

I think it must take a lot of patience and a kind heart to deal with any kid in a classroom setting, but if you can break through their disability, they are so full of love and kindness themselves=you are making a difference in their lives on a daily basis, what a rewarding profession!...Lovely that your Mum lives on the island...kisses to your adorable boys...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

What a fabulous picture and we think 95% of the people in the world could take some lessons from these children. Just like Kea stated.
