Boy oh boy have I been gone for a long time!

Hello dear people,

Happy happy new year, I have been gone too long, reflecting ( another word for moping ) on my lack of drive due to exhaustion. Doctors had seemed dumbfounded and until a few days ago I was at a loss. I believe it is a vitamin B12 deficiency as since I have been on a high dose I feel energised and have tired myself out in a normal way doing so much more.

So here I am back again, I was hoping to include some recent photos of my animal gang alas I can not find my cable for my camera. I will find it soon and send some soon. I will include a pic of Sherridan when she was here late October.

What stirred me to post today is that I have my chook pen all planned using an old dairy shed, I had thought to use an area near the house but I would have had to build a shed too. I am quite excited about it as a friend up here is going to assist.

Hi folks,

I rescued a dog ( an american Staffy called Misty) last month and went around trying to find her owner. My my it is a small world sometimes, turns out the dogs owner was Paul whose dad` used to own Doc my friends horse. Doc is back here again for a few weeks having a break from Moonlight and her son Storm.

Well we are seeing each other now and Misty and Miranda socialise daily, in fact Misty and Miranda are on the lounge together now while her dad`is off on an errand in town. What a bonus to be seeing a chef and of whom my mum approves ( he cooked dinner last night and went to special trouble to make sure a curry was not too hot for her).

Hi there,
All is powering along here, Miranda and Boyd are officially twice their weight of when we decided to adopt each other.

They go swimming every day when I am home at midday while I do revegetation work in the creek areas, they help me digging in the garden.

Spider and Smudge are well, the sun that streams into the house and had a wander outside accidently. They came when called thank goodness.

I am driving to Canberra this weekend, picking up some of my stuff, visiting friends and testing out the new car in cruise control!!!

Miranda and Boyd are staying with my mum and Spider and Smudge are being cared for by two wonderful ladies who are staying up here in paradise for a while housesitting for another friend of mine.

Yes I have been away from blogging for a bit but felt I needed a break. It's raining cats and dogs here, we have had 150mm since yesterday afternoon.
Just took Miranda and Boyd out for a quick run in between showers outside. They take turns on the lounge inside as its rare they are as settled as in photo below.

Spider and Smudge are well and this is when I caught them doing a bit of head patting before a major wrestle session.

This is a Tawny Frogmouth in a tree just near my verandah, often mistaken foir Owls they are actually members of the Nightjar family.

Another rarity at the moment, sun!!!!!

So yes I have it warm and snug inside, due to a wood burning stove and am on a tidying spree inside and making lists for my brother to help me with when he comes over from Thailand.
His cat has Feline Leukemia, has anyone sucessfully treated a cat, particulary with natural remedies??? I have found some internet info but to hear from you guys would be well recieved.

Hello,

I have been getting some hints, nudges etc from a higher power. Some may say angels, as is the way I feel. The repetition seems to be centered around writing, that is finishing my stories. I have put it off, most common excuse is I am not in the right place both mentally and physically.

My goal is to find that right place, I am gonna try under the giant gum tree where the horses hang out. Yesterday I was there saying hello to my furry equine friends and it felt magical.

Before all that I need to show my tree dahlias and Spider this morning.

Miranda and Boyd had a big day yesterday. They met Storm the horse, then went in the car to Puppy Training. Miss Miranda was sick on the way there but I heeded what a friend said about my windy road and went real slow home and she was fine.

Hello,
Yesterday my Mum, Miranda, Boyd and I went for a short drive to the Ellenborough Falls 5 minutes down the road. They went so well and had so much fun.

I am considering a new name for Boyd however (Yogi the bear, remember all the picnic lunches he used to steal, well Boyd almost got a few sandwiches to munch).

Down the steps we went to the top of the falls, met a few nice people and enjoyed some pats and then walked all the way back up with some extra encouragement for Boyd who is not so big on steps.

Oh and of course the dogs were on their harness and lead the whole time.

I thought you might like to see some shots of Spider and Smudge cuddling up, this has been happening a lot lately.

Miranda and Boyd started puppy classes and they did soooo well, just poor wee Miranda does not like car travel and got sick in the car. We`are gonna try Rescue remedy and are doing some special desensitising work with the car before the next class.

I've been away for a while, lots has happened including a storm obliterating my modem once again. Hopefully that explains my extended absense.

Above is a photo of Spider up to his usual and my two new 4.5 month old whippet cross cattle pups. They are rescue dogs and are brother (Boyd `is at front of pic)and sister, I felt `a bit sorry not to be taking their brother`as well.

Hi,

Something happened today, something that gave me a burst of energy and an impetus to get moving and surging towards my dream.

Well actually two things happened, I will tell you about the first one here and if you wanna find out about the second one visit my gardening blog.

"Christmas Dinner" the brush turkey was so animated and even though he was massacring my compost area I was enthralled. He talks to me too, clucks a bit like a chicken.

I'm off, just got caught eating yummy stuff.

I was out there today mowing the area around the house and suddenly the world looked brighter, the grass was greener, the flowers were bursting with colour and I just had to tell the turkey how much I loved him ( No, even though he has that name I would never eat him!!).

So world here I come. Exciting that tommorow I will be following up a contact in regard to setting a good part of my land aside for returning to a natural state and welcoming back the animals that are endemic to this area. And there are grants to help with this possibly too and volunteers!!!

So crazy here, not all plain sailing and a lot to get through but it is slowly coming together.

My friend with the horses is keen to help with wildlife too and a vet friend has donated some equipment and is keen on looking for a place in this area too!

Now I need to get ready for my puppy and then start building some wildlife enclosures.

Hello everybody,

This is my new buddy Storm. He is 15 years old and over 15 hands high. His mother Moonlight and their friend Doc are also staying at my place for a while. I visit them every day, they love carrots, pears and apples. I am really enjoying when I walk the track to the creek and they come with me.

Spider and Smudge are still happy and well, Spider has just been through a rough patch with a Urinary infection, but we caught it early and he is going quite well now!!!

Looks like we will be getting some horses here soon to stay for a few weeks while their owner has their land sprayed.

Hello there,

Last week I had my first two teaching days here near my new place. A whole different kettle of fish so to say and two really nice schools and great kids.

My garden is flourishing with seeds sprouting in my new garden beds. I am looking to get some chickens soon, fix the verandah and get a puppy from a rescue place I have seen briefly.

Spider and Smudge have settled in well as Smudge shows in the photo just before he got all smoochy!!

Hello,

Well I have been here about 6 weeks now, it has been a frustrating process acquiring this property. Cross your fingers as Settlement is planned for this Wednesday, then it is all mine. So yes I have been slack not updating and I apologise for the lack of comments but I have been in a kind of limbo, waiting, and yes more waiting.

But no I have not been just sitting and waiting, we (my mum helps me once a week and then I spend a day helping her at her place) have been gardening, poisoning noxious plants, digging new garden beds and lots of Whipper Snippering.

This lounge sure is comfy!!!!

Today was one of two days spent going around a number of schools ready for when they need a relief teacher.

We got really yummy grass, the best ever.

Hello,

I am on my mums computer as I now stay once a week at her place and help her with jobs. Then she comes and helps me the next day.

So anyone ever had a fried modem before ??? In my case it was due to the storms we have been having lately. I also heard where I live is a lightening prone area.

Spider and Smudge jumped when we heard the pop as lightening struck the house. We are all ok but staying away from trees when there are storms about!!!

I am going nuts ripping up carpet here, I have done about one quarter of the house and my mum is coming to help me tommorrow.

Also New years was just the best, I met a lot of locals and got invited to a 60 birthday party, a local food market every saturday. The most exciting is meeting a lady who keeps a lot of animals about 20km away. She has invited me to visit and she is quite an inspiring lady who just may be what I need to get me moving along.

Life has been a tad crazy, normality is a thing of the past but normal is more scary to me than where my life is headed now. My days are spent recreating the gardens, removing thistles and creating a lot of my own bread and cookies.

I am on my mums computer so just a quick update. On Sunday we (me and Spider and Smudge) moved into our new home.

Friday and Saturday night were spent at Tony and Carol's place about 45 mins away from my new place (Spider and Smudge spent two days in a large laundry area, they coped so well during the trip and I admire their resilence). No keys at first was the first, shall we say hurdle. Saturday Tony and I went to find a way inside and then we found hurdle number two, Fleas!!!!!!!!!!!! So I bombed the house with insecticide and the next day we cleaned up affterwards, lets just say the last tenant was not into cleaning.

Well it's Thursday now and we all still have fleas, yes even me and fleabites too. So it's mission eradicate flea day, I have Advantage for the boys ( a topical safe insecticide), spray for bedding, spray for under the house
and then it will be a comfortable time for us all.

The wildlife is prolific and each day I am observing and recording new species, on my first day I rescued a gorgeous Carpet/ Diamond hybrid snake and a Kookaburra Juvenile (just needed to recover from a knock by a car probably). The next day he was back with his family aftre a quiet night in a box.

Yes tomorrow is the day me and the boys head north. I sit on the floor as I type this, no table, no chair but ever welcoming purrs from Spider and Smudge who are taking the disruption all in their stride.

So today is pack the car, pre settlement inspection on my property here and waiting to hear the final ok everything is all ready up in Elands where we are going tommorrow.

So in order to relax it's gardening at Lolo's, yesterday I planted a root bound Gardenia for Rosie so it's definitely good for me and the plants too!!.

And as I come back to finish this post much has happened. It is all confirmed. The big day is tommorrow and I was heard Woo hooing in the street by the neighbours.

So please excuse me if I do not comment or blog for a few days.

And just to conclude my neighbour said what would I recommend in regard to woofing dogs. I said find the bright side and be grateful for what you do have.

I just have to say yes it's a stressful time moving but some truly wonderful people make it all worthwhile and this helps me keep plugging away at my dream.

So thanks to all those wonderful and inspirational people. They include a teacher of a 3/4 class who keeps crazy chickens, another teacher who is the most gifted early childhood teacher I have even seen and another who rescued me when it had all got too much.

I am so glad mum is back!!!

Hello all you lovely people,

My affirmation for the week is "my life flows smoothly and magic happens. "

It was a challenging trip driving the big truck with all my stuff north. It took four hours to load it Thurdsay night. We loaded a few more things on Friday morning and then I drove the truck to Wingham and stayed with my mums freinds Carol and Tony. (8 hours driving). They laughed whren they saw how my mum and I had loaded the truck but it did not move during the trip.

ON Saturday moring we drove to the shed hire place and with the help of the fantastic Tony and Carol we unloaded in 30 mins flat!!!! Brunch was then had by all at a great cafe in Taree.

I then drove back to Sydney and stayed the night at my brothers

Trinny my niece and me this morning.

Then I drove back today Canberra to be back with my boys, Thursday is the big move with Spider and Smudge. So lots to tidy before then!!!!

I have to admit I was a little devastated to find that my property will not be availiable to me this weekend due to the bank having not done its valuataion. Contracts will exchange on Tuesday and all is well.

The silver lining is that my mum was stressing about me driving on the dirt road in the three tonne truck, well no dirt road driving, we simply need to drive to a storage place in town. My mum is at ease and we will be more relaxed, yes there was a reason for it happening this way!!!

The boys snoopervised my taking my bed to bits this arvo, it was amusing to watch them at work!!!

This sure is diffrent to walk on!!!

My mum, her friend Carol and Tony the real estate spent a couple of hours at our new home to be today inspecting prior to contracts being exchanged, that is happening Fri.

Fri I drive a three tonne truck with most of my stuff and my mum comes with a load in another car as well.
I am picking up my sister on the way to help us unload.

Today I got rid of two 20kg bags of cement, all small plant pots into recycling and all scrap paper.

We is busy eating dinner, mum calls us her "push me pull you. "

Hello,

I thought I would be different and celebrate my 399th post and not so much my 400th. My computer is feeling it so it may be getting some down time the week after next. I can still blog from my mums computer and maybe a library too!!

Today has been a busy one too, Spider and Smudge took turns jumping on me to get me to get up and give them food (different food to biscuits which they had heaps of still, of course!!), went to the gym, dug up spinach and put on compost, emptied out bulb pots and recovered loads of bulbs (lots of babies, see my gardening blog.)

So now I am gonna plant some more bulbs in Aunty Rosie's garden and finish watching a movie called The Miracle Dogs. Then some emails to more schools and some more paper shredding and more packing.

Gimme that red mouse, I know I am lucky to have Spiders cast offs!!!

I got a bit carried away the last few days doing packing, tidying and yesterday did a 4 hour trip to Sydney (my brothers house). When I got there I had to transport the boxes and bags to his big shed (not easy at all using a trolley going through a muddy horse paddock, through three gates and up a steepish hill).It took me fours trips, darn good exercise. Then I drove the 4 hours back, I was exhausted.

So today I woke up and watched Eclipse the Twilight movie and gradually dug up and dug in three beds of broad beans, vacuumed and have started again to sort out some of my cupboards etc. That is as well as do washing, bake bread and make some pretty good choc cookies (Sherridan may not spit it out this time).

Told you I was scared!!!

I have finally got the transport boxes for the big trip we need to take in two weeks (8 hours minimum).

Smudge and Spider decided they would check them out straight away.

Any advice for something for them to hide in that is small and inexpensive to put inside???

Mr Squeak mouse even likes the box!!!

I came home and during a break in the rain set out some pots to plant in my neighbours garden.I actually managed to plant a few and will finish them this week as the rain is good to settle them in.

Smudge has been Mr Purry and Smudge the smoocher while I was cooking dinner he kept head butting me from on top of the fridge, he is so delightful!!

Hello,

Well babysitting was a joyful experience, especially as I descibed my Sanctuary to Paige and she asked if I was going to keep unicorns and could she have one. I told her she can have the first one I breed, she is 4 and a half by the way.

Anyway I have looked after these children, Declan and Paige for a about 6 and a half years on and off. It has always been fun and they are just gorgeous children, what a privledge to be a small part of their lives.

Their cat has two kittens as well, just stunning and amusing, better, much better than TV to watch.

She is holding me properly, for this I am truly glad!!

Hello,

Yes I had my me day today, it was a great day. I spent an hour and a half at the gym, got my eyebrows waxed and was brave in getting my hair cut a lot shorter, I can just put up into a ponytail. Secondhand clothes shopping featured as well and having a nice cappucino.

Then the boys Aunty Lolo came for dinner, while I was making the pizza a story unfolded in regard to chunks of cheese, see below.

Mmm smells interesting Spider. I know it tastes good I am already licking my chops, Smudge HURRY UP!!!

Today I found out I was just a plain silly billy, my teacher friend does not see me as a Namby Pamby but was just joking. I guess some of us are more sensitive.

Just wondering if anyone out there has been called Namby Pamby, I looked it up as someone told me it was me. I am deciding it is the childish element I will embrace and disregard the rest and that is why people see me as younger than my 40 years.

Anyway it only makes me more determined in that I am making the right decision in moving away from traditional teaching.

Today I got talking to a troubled young lady and asked "do you like animals"? She said yes and the conversation flowed into my dream of allowing children to learn how to look after animals, a place to feel calm. It was nice to hear she thinks it's a good idea.

This is what the future holds for me on my property, a lot of hard work, I have decided not to worry too much about the how, although my dads idea of Volunteers of WWOOFERS sounds brilliant. These woofy people are Willing Workers on organic farms. They get free board, food and entertainment for some work they do in exchange.

Hello,

Today the owner of my dream property and myself agreed on a price, $20,000 below the asking price. So now I have engaged a solicitor for the new place and the ball has begun to roll towards contract exchange.

Yes the feeling of excitement and being scared is back again, I was telling my dad this and he understands big life changes towards ones life purpose often bring this feeling.

Tonight it is a go to bed early night after an hour of mulching and weeding, that is aftre a day teaching too!!!

Yes I am thankful, someone this morning said to me at least one thing is going right. I said there are lots of good things happening in my life and a lot to be thankful for.

One is of course my wonderful furry boys, another my wonderful parents who support and last but definitely not least are you my fellow bloggers who are with me each step of the way.

Hiya,

Yes my Dad rang me last night and yes there is a lot to consider when it comes to the property.There was no "give it a miss" talk but he did say he was not going to sway me either way.I do feel it will be a huge challenge for me but I still want to keep on this journey. My Sister Holly is keen to come and help me too!!!

This is great, mum wants to read these papers and it's the best spot to lie down!!!

So today as I type this a plumber/ gas dude is fixing my oven ands my furry purry friend Spider is shut in the computer room with me, as above. Smudge is in the other spare room so the plumber can go in and out without worrying about the kitties. It is more for my peace of mind really and you all know that I am sure.

Hello,

I am keeping myself busy while I with bated breath to find out what the outcome of my dads visit to view the property that holds my heart.

He did say he may be tired and that is understandable as he has driven an 8 hour round trip or so to help me out. So as soon as I hear what he has to say I will be letting you know.

Funny though when one follows good advice ( my mums) and their intuition and things happen. THis was locating a home loan with a much lower rate when one shops around, as was recomemnded when all I felt like doing was going to the gym and then straight home. Woo Hooooo!!!!!

We can not believe mum is gonna get rid of our favourite lounge toooo!!!!

Hello,

I've had a day off, in fact have decided to go back to four days a week so I can pack up and have the house ready when I leave.

Today I rang schools in the Taree area regarding relief work, then updated my CV. This was after going to the gym, dropping off a carfull of stuff to a sceond hand place and talking to some banks about a new home loan, Phew!!!

Then after lunch I got stuck into shovelling mulch my neighbour offered me and wheelbarrowing it down the street to my garden.

I will sleep well tonight, my dad checks out the property tommorrow!!!

I went to dinner at the boys Aunty Lolo's last night, she made falafel with yummy houmous and a curry with rice.

My arrowroot that I grew from a tiny bulb is now its own continent with about 12 seperate shoots with lots of leaves and last night I took it to give to Lois. It was hard letting go of something I nutured from a tiny baby and sheltered during the harsh Canberra winter but I know it was the best thing to do as my mum has lots of them.

I have also had the packing bug and am gonna spend a $50 voucher from a teacher friend on some boxes and packing tape (that is good plastic ones).

Spider found a sun puddle this morning and was so snuggly!!!
It is all happening here, yesterday was just the impetus I needed to get things happening. I got a reply to my offer of a drop in price by $10,000, this is a sign of a keen vendor. My dad needs to check the property out more before I make any more offers as I told the agent so I have been on the phone arranging my dad and my sister's visit to the property for early next week.

My dad seems to want me to put the brakes on a bit and I can understand he is just being careful. He is being practical after all. As I type this I watch a Noisy Minor make a nest near the window at my mums place on Wallis Island and a Koel vocalises the rain that will come later.

Yesterday was an exciting adventure, we took the boat across the lake in the rain and managed to keep mostly dry. We met up with Tony and I took both him and my mum to lunch and had the best coffee I have had in a long time.

The drive to the property was along a winding road that became a dirt road, (very red earth) and we drove up onto the Bulga plateau which is apparently 500 m above sea level. Elands where the property is, is on this area and the house is clos to the small village where a small school is situated.

The house was strewn with the tenants clothes but I could see the potential, two bathrooms (in need of reno).
Wood stove which is needed as winters can be chilly.

The land around the house has some beautiful trees, Oak and pine and many native and fruit trees.
There are 32 acres of which the furthest away contains a rainforest like creek, wonderful and would be stunning in summer. Lots of paddocky areas, needs some clearing around edges of some noxious weeds.

Lots of thinking going on, I am considering putting in an offer soon but want to get my dad's advice.
So there you go, more photos to come.....

Hi everyone,

Over the last two days I have been busy driving to my mums through lots of rain, it seemed a perilous journey of sorts with a bout of aquaplaning in my car with my heart in my throat. The last 48 hrs has seen a lot of rain up here and I am a rain lover, just not when driving or crossing the lake to Wallis Island in an open boat.

I satyed in Sydney at my brothers on Thursday night after leaving the ACT straight after school. Spending some time with my nephew Max and Trinny my Niece was special, in fact even Jessie the dog got a sticker put on his head during a bout of frenzied play.

Today we are going to see two properties, the one I showed you earlier in the week and also another as a comparison. I am going to let my heart and soul speak to me today, that way the decison will be made easily.

Oh god not the flashy thing again!!!

I have been to get boxes to take a load of stuff to my brothers on Thursday afternoon. As I get closer and closer to this weekend I am getting more excited. At school the children are picking up on it and have been laughing at me and having a ball. I don't mind and I explained to them about my dream as I have to a number of children.

It's good for me to talk about the animals I hope to have (really it will be the ones who need my help and a safe haven for them). Through discussion I am dream building and making my vision stronger.

I so want this property to be the one!!!!!

It's raining here and it makes me feel like snuggling in bed especially as both Spider and Smudge are there purring like troopers.

At this time I wonder what it will be like living in a more rambling house, bigger that is and watching the rain.

I am going to begin packing some boxes as when I go to see my mum I will stay the night on the way with my brother in Sydney.

The rain reminds me of my childhood, when we spent about two years living in a shed on a large property with an upstairs area that had a split roof. This allowed me to see the weather yet was oriented so the rain never came in. It really was a special time and it gave me a love of thunder and soothing rain. My neighbours heard me Woohooing yesterday with the thunder and I am sure they thought me odd!!!

Hello,

I am heading up north on Friday to see two properties (pics below of THE ONE!!!) that my mum saw last week. Again I am experiencing that scared and excited feeling at once.

There is this feeling of being a tenant in my own home while I am waiting for settlement and finding the place of my dreams.

Above is the place that I am most keen on (copied from the real estate site), I can see myself on this verandah drinking my morning coffee.

So I am getting there by doing a little each day, that's the way to do it, slow and sateady rather than rushing or leaving things till the last minute.

Hi everyone,

I have been doing a bit of thinking today as my mum's friend has found another property that might suit me. This is weird at this stage as I had resigned myself to renting for 6 months especially to fulfill a dream of living by the sea.

I now know after a restless night and day that what will happen is meant to be and that is ok as the universe delivers. No matter how strange it can be at times.

I am leaning towards moving myself too, I reckon I may save a few thousand dollars!!!!

Today is the last day I clean houses during the week for work, I am going to realief teach 4-5 days a week so as to earn extra $ towards the big move that I make in about 7 weeks.

Yes it is getting closer, going to find out about the cost of a removalist today, a friend said it could be as much as $4,500!!!!!!!

My dad said it would work out cheaper for me to use a removalist rather than hiring a 3 tonne truck myself, somehow I am not sure about that??

Anyway I am off to the gym then a yummy fish burger for lunch. Hope everyone has a fabulous day!!!

It is Spiders day today on the blog as it is still only allowing me to post one photo!!!

The boys have been busy taking nanna naps we me most afternoons and then getting up at 4.30 with me and having breakfast. It is a nice time of day but I would rather be asleep.

The problem is I go to bed too early most nights, except Fri night and we all slept in till 8am. Well except Spider jumping on me every half hour wanting breakfast.

Hello,

It's all so exciting, I wnet to a trivia night last night and had the best time and our table won. The group of people at the table was perfect for the night as we had a combination of ages and interests.

We all won a wine bag with a bottle of wine, a voucher for dinner, a movie voucher and I also won a lucky door prize of another bottle of wine.

It was a late night, as it finished at 11.30 pm but I am so glad I went and all the money goes towards the Preschool attached to the school I work at.

Well I am home, the big news is that my house just sold. Again comes the scary yet exciting feeling when I realise I am a step closer to my dream. I know there is lots to happen, so many fences to leap over and leap I will.

Today is the day I head home to OZ, where it will be warmer, dryer and sunnier. It has been lovely here as I was just saying to my Aunt but so much awaits me in Canberra. Loose ends to tie up, two furry felines and a life purpose to stride towards with determination.

Hello everybody,

Yesterday I drove over from Chester back here to Oxfordshire. I stayed wednesday night with a friend of mine called Isolde who works at the Chester Zoo in the reptile section. We worked together in 1997 when I did a keeper exchange with another guy and he worked at Taronga Zoo where I was working fulltime.

It was great to see her and meet her newish family of three dogs, a Japanese chin called Pumpkin who is 2 years old, a chihuahua called Rosie who is 1 and a Cavalier Spaniel called Poppy who is 3. All real characters and they sure kept me amused and it was funny to hear of Rosie pulling out a friends underwear and bringing them downstairs when they didn't keep their bedroom door closed.

Hello all,

Yesterday I took my great Aunt very carefully (that is how I drove) to see her brother and his wife (my grandparents, my dads parents).

We got a bit lost finding a cafe to have a cuppa at but thanks to the GPS I was put back on track (the right road that is).

When we arrived I parked the car after my Aunty Betty walked into the house, I heard lots of emotion and saw lots of hugging, my dads brother and his wife were there as well (my Uncle Jack and Maureen, who looks a million bucks, stress suits her apparently).

Then came my turn, I came upon my Uncle Jack first and his wife Maureen, hugs all round as tears threatened to spill over, as I saw my Grandfather I was grasped into a bear hug and everything went misty (just as it is now as i type this), my Grandmother treated to more of the same.
The afternoon passed with lots of reminising, wedding photos of my cousins, eating chocolates and drinking tea.

To hear my Grandfather declare it was a miracle to see his sister again was magic to hear, also to experience the expessions of gratitude from my Grandfather in regard to his health and today was uplifting. Nevertheless when I retunrned after a short hour long journey to my Aunts place I needed a stiff drink and an early night!!!

Oh and Tiddles is most definitely a girl!!!!

Hello, hello,

Well I have almost been in the UK a week now, yesterday was really warm and I went for a walk across the fields with my mum (it seemed like miles and miles). We picked blackberries (I ate lots!!!!!!!!!!) and then in the arvo went to the gym. Then while having a truly unmemorable coffee at the local store my mum ran into a old friend and we had some wine ( Not not more atrocious coffee but a glass of red equivalent to three glasses!!!!) It was a wonderful moment in time seeing my mother as a schoolgirl giggling with her friend as they reminsised.

Today I am off to see my fathers parents with my great Aunt and I am so thrilled she is gracing me with her presence as she is just a gorgeous lady.

It is surprising how much more time I had when I was by myself in Canberra, acountable now more for what I am doing most of the time and blogging is a luxury I miss!! Above are pics of Tiddles my aunts cat.

We have just been down to Cornwell and Devon, we had a busy but a great time with quite blustery winds.

The roads were a challenge, some so small and people park in the silliest spots. We enjoyed seeing the Mousehole, Penzance and St Ives and the Dartmoor area.I will show Penzance today.

Hello,

Well here I am in the UK, we arrived yesterday (I am travelling with my mum) and picked up our hire car. We ended up with a BMW which is interesting in figuring out how all the controls work.

I am staying at my aunts place and slept quite well last night, we drove to the Cotsowolds yesterday and will be based here where we both grew up. My mum is staying with her parents, last night was a big reunion with a big bunch of my relatives.

Below is Smudge the day before I left, I miss them but have made a new friend called Tiddles, a cat that adopted my aunt. I think it is a girl, she is black and white and so chatty (photos to come soon if I can download them onto this from my camera).

Today is my last day and night in OZ, then its on a plane and away I go to the UK.

It's exciting and I look forward to seeing my relatives and a few friends.

Then when I return I will be starting to find a house to rent in Newcastle area ( a couple of hours from my folks, instead of about 7 -8 hours away as I am now).

I will miss Smudge and Spider but I know they are in good hands with Aunty Roise.

Hello, hello,

I was out hanging the washing and heard Abby the blonde, bimbo extroidinaire meoawing weirdly. She replied to my meow back but did not appear so I went to see why she was not coming to say hi. Upon looking through the gate which nosy me opened saw Abby trapped between the tray and the car cab of my neighbours car.

I swifly gently removed her and she hobbled off with her rear right leg collapsing, I called her owner who was asleep on the lounge and we watched her slowly recover. She was mouth breathing and lying down a lot and had white gums from what I could see.

5 mins later she was walking 60% better and went and did a number 2 in a careful wobbly fashion, so I left my neighbourt to it suggesting her still take her to the vet in Smudge's borrowed cat bag.

Anyway I hope she is 100% soon!!

I likes my cat bag, especially for sleeping on!!!

Hello lovely people,

We all had a scary morning today, another cat came and disturbed us all near the front door. For some reason this set Spider and Smudge into full on cat fight mode, it was horrible I had to seperate them into diffrent rooms and shut the doors.

Racing through my head were possibilities of what to do, advice from neighbours saying I should never have got two male cats (they are both desexed). I know they still have the odd cat scrap but this moring was horrific, I had to take some rescue herbal remedy to calm myself down knowing my two bestest buddies were not getting on.

Anyway a trip in the car during the open house and return home, below is them this aftyernoon!!!

I am looking forward to reaping the rewards in being assertive and not lowering the price of my house, that is not to say I would not accept a lower offer, just not keen to look desperate.

Thanks for all your great advice it helped me stick to my guns.

Today I mowed the front and back lawns and did all the edges, spread pea mulch all over vegetable patch and watered well, vacuumed and mopped house too.

I had the lovely kinders again today (5-6 year olds), I was at the end of my tether and went to ask another teacher for help when I noticed the older children in her room. I borrowed them and the rest of the day ran smoothly thanks to their great help.

I have been practisicing assertiveness, (and bad spelling) my Real estate agent is recommending I drop the price of my property and I feel it is a knee jerk reaction to a slow market. He says people will think something is worng with my house if I leave it at the current price. I feel that dropping it would make people more concerned and have told him to invite people to make and offer which he has not done yet???

So no call to him tommorrow to cahnge the price, it stays at the price I want and if he can't sell it I will wait till his time is up and sell if by myself!!!!!!

My mum went on a mission for me today looking at property near her place. All of the places were just land and not what I am after really from what she has told me.

I still beleive the universe will deliver my wish and I will find my dream property, I just feel I need to be really definite about what I want and I have to confess my mum got me thinking.

I was all for renting a house and buying a block of land and slowly building a house, beginning with a model of my house for the boys with a netted run and a sunny inside beinch for us all to snuggle on.

Well the way I am thinking is that maybe I spend a bit more, hold onto most of my loan and get a place with a house and be able to go about bulding in a realxed fashion and not have to rent.

So yes lots of thinking going on and another open house tommorrow!!

Hello lovely people,

This was a post I thought I had submitted on Monday night but my computer was having a bad day so it did not submit it. I so did not feel like the gym but I went again and also had energy to mow the lawn today.
Planning for my overseas trip to the UK has involved some thinking about hiring a car with my mum to save time. It turns out for 10 days it would cost only about $250 each.

Meanwhile Smudge, (who else) has been rampaging in my cupboards.

It was not me!!!!

Its so snuggly here!!!

Hello everybody,

I joined the gym for 3 months, it cost me $370 Australian for 3 months and this includes pool entry so I feel it is worth the $. I went today and am glad I chose this one instead of a womens only gym as its nice to have a distraction. I am down about 8 kgs now and feel remarkably better.

No chocolate for 9 weeks and only two glasses of wine over the last two weeks and 1 coffee a day, I finish eating before 5pm as often as I can.

Hello,

Wonder if anyone remembers that ginger cat that was sitting on my gate a while back. Well he hangs around the front yard and yowls and terrorises other cats, he gave Spider and Smudge a fright through the screen door.

Last night I helped out at a 40th birthday party, I served food, washed up, tidied up and heated food up. The birthday girl was effusive with her thanks, I enjoyed helping out and knowing she has less tidying up to do after.

Thinking about my 40th which was in March this year reminds me I spent the day on a beach eating an icecream. I plan on having a big party on my property within the next year so really it is all going swimmingly!!!

Hello,

THis was Spider last night, today it was a battle to get them into the containers but it was worth it as we had four groups of people through my house and one group asked for a contract.

I was looking online last night and found three properties near my mums place, I am also thinking of building the boys a mudbrick cat house prior to building my own house out of mudbricks. My dad is a mudbrick architect so I am well set up.
